Bonfante Gardens, June 12, 2005

The entrance to Bonfante gardens is a wooden bridge lined with trees.
Our first stop was the merry-go-round, but Caleb hadn't quite woken up from his nap on the car ride, and wasn't in the mood for it yet.

Unlike other theme parks, Bonfante is covered with trees, flowers, and plants.
Caleb is happier about this ride.
...it went super-fast.
Caleb's first solo ride, only he doesn't know it yet...
While Caleb is busy eyeing the kid behind him who was too scared to go on the ride, Chesney made her escape behind the railing.
''Wait, why are you guys over there and not over here with me?''
Caleb was great--he didn't whine at all and had a great time on his first solo ride. He was by far the youngest kid there.
Caleb was less thrilled about the water play area.
We got to ride hot air balloons.
It was pretty hot that day. Luckily, we brought sunscreen and Tim brought his hat...so Caleb could use it.
Caleb is having much more fun on the rides than he did on his last visit to the park.
''Those are some really big balloons.''
Lunchtime. We forgot a bib (again), so Caleb went shirtless.
Our lunch was a couple of local favorites: Garlic fries, and deep-fried artichoke hearts (Gilroy is the ''Artichoke Capital of the World'' don't you know...).
Mmmmm...
We enjoyed the maze a lot the last time around, but this time Caleb walked by himself.
He found some cool tunnels that were just his size.
...mom happened to be on the other end.
Caleb got lost a few times, and hit some dead ends.
We watched a show about the importance of vegetables.
Some weird-looking palm trees, much like the ones we used to see along the Davao River. We didn't know people would pay money to see them.

Caleb didn't do such a good job keeping on the tracks, but not bad for his first time.

This caterpillar ride had a the ugliest, meanest looking caterpillar. Kinda scary.
Near the end of our trip, we took Caleb on the merry-go-round again, and this time he loved it.
An apricot-smoothie break from the heat.
Caleb liked the smoothie.
We stopped to smell the roses.
This was Caleb's first ride ever last Novemeber.
